Spartan Logistics' Top 5 Warehouse Markets

In the world of warehousing and logistics, having ample warehouse space is essential for efficiently storing, managing, and distributing the customer's goods. As a third-party logistics (3PL) provider, we understand the importance of selecting warehouses that offer storage capacity to meet the needs of our clients, while also being in optimal locations for them to reach their customers. Choosing the right location can make all the difference for not only the manufacturer but also for the long-term success of the 3PL. Here are our top 5 locations by total operating square footage (SF):

1. Columbus, OH- 804,000 SF

Spartan Logistics was founded in Columbus 36 years ago, and it remains our headquarters and largest presence. We offer both public and dedicated warehousing options and service a wide variety of industries in Columbus.

The city’s central location within the state makes it a geographic advantage for anyone looking for a distribution center in Ohio. The Columbus metro area is also within a one-day drive time of 45% of the U.S. population and 36% of the U.S. manufacturing capacity.

2. Anderson, SC- 590,000 SF

Anderson has been Spartan's largest location in the Southeast for quite some time, where we offer shared warehouse space to customers in many industries. The town is geographically centered between Atlanta, GA (122 miles) and Charlotte, NC (127 miles), making it a central location for distribution between the two largest hubs in the region.

3. Toledo, OH- 580,000 SF

Shortly after opening the first Columbus location, Spartan opened a warehouse in Toledo, where we have been a leading 3PL for over 30 years. Spartan has four different locations in the Toledo area, offering both shared and dedicated space for our customers.

Toledo is within a 300-mile radius of thirty percent of the United States industrial market and half of the Canadian market’s industrial space, offering the perfect location for those looking to service both the U.S. and Canada.

4. Fort Smith, AR- 570,000 SF

Fort Smith is a city with a significant manufacturing presence and features some of our largest dedicated warehousing operations. Spartan Logistics first began to do business in Fort Smith in 2013, when a trusted partner came to Spartan with a need for a 3PL provider in the area.

This location in Northwest Arkansas is well within a one-day shipping range of most of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and more. In addition to its location on the Arkansas River and its proximity to major highways, Fort Smith is considered an ideal market for growth and development.

5. Marion, IN- 400,000 SF

Marion features one of Spartan's largest and longest-standing warehouse operations. This location is a shared facility for several customers with different size needs and has flexibility for short—and long-term needs. Indiana is ranked first in interstate access with 14 interstate highways and first in pass-through interstates, giving manufacturers easy distribution of goods to and from our facility.
